    getthatmon…
    (676 items)

delicately painted flowers and bird in light blue, framed within a pattern of colorful glazed hexagon. as far as i know it might be japanese because the hexagonal pattern that the frames are asymmetric? just because Chinese preferred symmetrical decorations...
It all seems to be hand drawn, and very nicely done.
any knowledge what is written underneath? where and when has this vase been made? 1880-1900?

      Dai Ni Hon Matsumura Zo?
Matsumura in Gotheborg only has two examples of the second part:
Matsumua zo or Made by Matsumura.

I'm glad to have helped you out.
I've learnt a lot from your posts on German pots et al already!
      So thanks to you!
      Are you in Germany?
      Are you dry?
What's happened in Passau was historic.
Many here on CW know of the importance of the museum of glass there.
Hope Herr Höltl got the collection out and up to safety.

yes i'm in germany but i live in brunswick, near hannover, lower saxony....
there is a little bit of water here but far away from what happens in passau, deggendorf etc.
but not only in germany... in hungary, czechia, austria as well.
but i do hope as well herr höltl got the collection out...
the terrible thing it will happen again and more often in future.
when temperatures rise more water evaporates and it rains a lot more...
