"River Park, Mudgee" is a card sent by Maude Lankester to her father in 1908. It is related to an earlier card that I have already posted. This card was sent two days after the earlier card posted on the 5th of February. The earlier card struck me for its tone of "Loneliness". This card has the quite different theme of "Leisure".
Two days meant a shift in mood. In this card Maude seems more up-beat. The mail had arrived! Maude mentions the need to place Mt Frome on the card as a proper mailing address. Her music had been mislaid at the Post Office. She mentions the name Paine and this is a new direction for my research: perhaps Mr & Mrs W. T. Paine of Mt Frome. W. T. Paine was a dairy farmer in Mt. Frome. Perhaps this was where Maude was staying?

Associated place and context:
Percival Stuart Garling was a keen photographer who opened and ran a photographic studio in Mudgee. In later days he was admitted by the A.R.P.S. (Associate of the Royal Photographic Society).
Cudgegong River, a perennial stream that is part of the Macquarie catchment within the Murray-Darling basin, is located in the central western and Orana districts of New South Wales, Australia.
Cudgegong River Park is a Crown Land Reserve located 35 kilometres from Mudgee on the foreshores of Burrendong Dam these days. This 150 hectare park is a recreational and camping reserve which is an ideal location for fishing, camping, boating, water skiing, canoeing, kayaking, bush walking and bird watching.
