This image was taken by Brady at Lee's Richmond house on 16 APR 1865.
The carte de visite (CDV) carries a Brady backmark along with copyright information on the front.
Shown to the right (as viewed) is Lee's aid, LTC Walter Taylor; to the left is Lee's son Custis.
Images of Lee are very desirable. Lithographic views are commonly seen, but these "from life" images are much harder to find.
Reproduction of these images in any form is prohibited.

One of my heroes, fought a war he didn't want to fight, but duty called. Thanks for posting this.
Thanks much for looking and commenting jim. He is a hero to me and ended up as one of my daughter's middle names: "Jackson Lee".
