This is one of those pieces that you buy without looking at the mark, its just so visually attractive. Royal Winton, 1940's, couldn't find this ware online anywhere, all I can find is that grandma-ish chintz stuff that's covered in dainty, pastel flowers. I really like it! Whatcha guys think?
I too think this is drop dead gorgeous. Royal Winton is a real sleeper! They did some amazing stuff. My mother had some other stuff which I personally never cared for but this design is really fabulous!
I love this design as well it reminds me of Clarice Cliff a little:)
Yeah Vetraio, the only other Winton I've seen is that little-girly chintz flower covered stuff, but I really like this! Its attractive enough to hang on the wall I'd say
Actually I bought a deco lustre plate a month ago that is totally hand painted. I'm stll researching it. Any ideas?
Is it on your page? I don't see anything
No I have not put it up yet. Trying to find out who did the lustre stuff for Royal Winton. No luck so far.
I wish I could help, china is my weak area though..
It looks similar, but definitely different to a pattern called Blue Carnation.
google 'Blue Carnation' and go to images!
Its different than Blue Carnation? I believe you've found the pattern actually
Thanks a lot V, I looked through 2 full pages of "Royal Winton" and I didn't find it!
Hi! If they did a Green Carnation then maybe. The border is different too. There must be someone with a Royal Winton Collectors Book!
I think I see what's going on here, the pattern is a transfer-decal with a bit of hand-painting on the tips of the flowers and lines in leaves, all the red-orange areas, it looks like some plates are lacking that for some reason
I agree. There is much more work on this plate of yours. In the case of my lustre plate there is no transfer work at all, I think.
definitively art love it!!!
