    LOUMANAL
    (436 items)

This is another vase that I picked up at a flea market this week. Again, I have been unable to find a similar vase online or in my reference books. It measures 5" tall and 3" across at the widest. The base is flat, unmarked and shows age wear. The background mountains are in frosty (ground glass) pink while the trees, branches & foreground is in dark pink raised enameling. The rim and flowers are in a cherry pink enameling over ground glass. Any ideas on the date & manufacturer of this very classy vase? Is it French? Thanks everyone, BOB (LOUMANAL)

Just as likely to be Czech (a little more likely imho) I've seen similar with plain stickers that say made in Czech.

      It's definitely not Daum.
    8. Greatsnowyowl Greatsnowyowl, 12 years ago
the quality is really not comparable... This is really and truly not Daum.
    9. LOUMANAL LOUMANAL, 12 years ago
Is it contemporary to the Daum piece shown? It might not be Daum but the quality of the art work is quite stunning and involves a complicated process. Thanks for your input. BOB

It is roughly contemporary. your piece is probably a bit later than the daum piece. (10-20 years) It's really most likely Cottage ware from bohemia. Circa 1910-1920

Thank Greatsnowyowl! By Cottage Ware, do you mean something made for the "Common" folks who couldn't afford the "Real" thing or was it a trade name by some company. I was unaware of the term. RER (LOUMANAL)

Saw a smaller version of this little vase at a French auction site and it was definitely identified as an early DAUM. I’m confident that it is DAUM.
