    Heavy, well rendered estate piece. 10 1/2" Long x 8" Tall. The underside of one foot has an incised mark, which looks like Asian Characters-Japanese perhaps? Any ideas who may have made this piece?

      To my eye the picture of the mark need to be turned around 180 degrees.

      Hi, the shape reminds me of a German artist called Schäffenacker. A friend of mine has a similar piece and it's by this artist. His vases are often not signed though.
