Well, I might have to eat my words about liking Capodimonte. At least the nice ones..lol. I went back to Salvation Army today and lo and behold found this. It's a little spire of Dogwood and Blue Bells. Seems to match the flowers on the one I found yesterday. May be the same artist. It's 7" tall and sits on a 3" scroll design base. The flowers over hang it to about 4 ". Different mark on this one too. I'll say 60's to 80's. I adjusted my previous guess on both these pieces as I think they are a bit more contemporary. No damage that I could see on this one. Three bucks nicely spent ! -Mike-
Isn't it funny what bubbles to the surface at the thrift and all of a sudden you have a collection. Or find yourself getting educated with a massive download.
It sure is. Like I said I'm not a fan of Capo but these are really nice and I forget they did so much more than flowers. Figurines, vases and lamp bases.. The prices have been low for so long because no one wanted grandma's junk. It's actually becoming popular again and valuable depending on the craftsmanship.
