I believe this Army Air Base Fire Chief’s hat badge was used from the early 1940s to 1947 (the year the Army Air Force became the United States Air Force), 1948 or 1949. The possible base locations that I have found so far that begin with the letter C are: Chanute AAB (Rontoul), IL; Clovis AAB (Clovis), NM; Charlotte AAB (Charlotte), NC; Charleston AAB (Charleston), SC; or Casper AAB (Casper), WY. It measures 44.87mm. Any additional information on the badge will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
