Hello Friends,
I picked this up on Friday at the end of a day which didn't yield much, but it was a wonderful day.
This is a beautiful bowl, approximately 4 inches in diameter, with very thin, translucent walls.
I assume it's stone, but I don't know what type.
The irregularities/inclusions are incredible, with some transparent spots making it appear to have holes in it.
Chinese?, Japanese?, Stone?,......new or old, not sure.
Any ideas?

Chinese, they dye other hardstones to imitate jade and carve them in the manner of 18th and 19th century pieces

Stillwater -- believe or not, ancient chinese had started dying jade to improve jade grade. The great emperor Qianlong, who is famous among porcelain lovers, ordered to make dyed jade artifacts for himself. We can still find them in the Palace museum now days. So a fake jade is not necessarily a fake antique.
