It's in pretty rough shape, and I know its not worth much. I got it in change at the gas station yesterday, that kinda thing doesn't happen every day!

They made silver nickels during World War II. The blue it is sitting on is a Whitman coin folder that also labels it as silver.
Melt value of $1.58 in todays market
1942? Better hang on to that one! I'm not now but I used to be a penny collector back when I was a tot (thanks dad :)
Oh BTW wanted to talk to you about that comment you made about a month ago on my gum machine... THANK YOU!!! :)
You know I love the show American Pickers but when Frank posted that comment "you got ripped off pal" it kinda shattered me. Thank you for coming back and defending me with " dont worry about that comment. its worth over $50" ----thank you soooooo much.
(Frank Fritz from AMerican pickers on History channel deleted that comment it looks like) :)
No problem! That wasnt THE Frank..just some poser that didnt know anything and felt like being a jerk...he went around posting negative comments on a lot of posts. He was deleted by the admin and probably blocked.
I was gathering up my random change just now that had accumulated for who knows how long and I spotted the reverse of a wheat penny. 1938! Always check your change people!
