I found this Deco Lady With a Dog dresser jar cover at a fairgrounds antique show displayed as in the first photo. I knew right away the pieces don't go together, as I have a very similar piece with the same base (pic 2). Side story on pic 2 (2 ladies): The top was the first piece of depression I bought, I loved it for thew Deco design, as well as that it was displayed under a black light and it glowed. I paid $8 for it. A couple of years (YEARS!!) later I found the bottom at an antique mall in Ontario, NY, and in a $1 bin. I couldn't believe that! SO, back to the Lady With Dog... I explained the mismatched pieces to the dealer (she had no idea), and I got her to cut the price in half, and I took her home, and matched her up with the bottom I had (pic 3). Pic 4 is the new one under the black light, in as found condition. I'll find another bottom somewhere!

So this time you had a bottom and were looking for a top? Years again? Been snapping them up for a while?

Thanks Sean. And no Amber, I found another top, and I'm (still) looking for a bottom, just like the one I have.

      Thanks for the loves, everyone!

I like how you displayed the lid on the cake stand in the first photo.

Thanks, Aimathena, though that's not really a cake stand. The diameter of the dresser jar lid is about 4", and the stand is just a bit wider than that, way too small for a cake stand. A cupcake stand, maybe. I really don't know what the stand was for originally, that was the way the dealer had the cover displayed. I still have the stand, but I don't know what to do with it.

I've these listed as "Annette" powder jar by L. E. Smith Glass in several different colors

explains why it also goes with the bottom form "The Twins" as they do seem to sues the same bottom and both by Smith.

TallCAkes, thanks again. After some more research, I found another bottom, so I can put my 3 Birds top on it, and have a trio!

I thought I remember see the 3 birds on here too. You'll have to keep and eye out for the one with 2 elephants. And then there's a minstrel one that has the same bottom too.

Te one I just bought is the minstrel one, but the top does not match the bottom. I bought it for the bottom of the 3 birds. I've seen the elephant one, but it doesn't do anything for me. The Deco is what gets me excited!
