    This notebook is filled w/ recipes for everything from French candies to how to make fertilizer and dog food and many cures for how to treat diptheria, rheumatism, etc.... there are thousands of recipes here - most of them handwritten. Many are also cut from newspapers. i always read the backside of those ones and the last photo shows an interesting bit of info - the first election won by Theodore Roosevelt - to the NYC Chamber of Commerce.

      i found this one in an antiques store. i think it belonged to a Sarah Metcalf from Keene, NH. if it were from my family, it would be in french. thanks betweenthelens!
