Nothing new today, but I remembered this lamp which I hadn't posted yet. It's really large, with the shade it's 42 inches tall ! Couldn't even get it all into the picture. The color and texture of the base is amazing and very 60's. It almost looks like a planet or globe and the textured parts look like continents. It was shadeless and the base was loose when I bought it. The felt is missing on the bottom too so no label or marks that I could see. I found a simple vintage shade a week later that was clean enough and the right proportions to fit it. It seems they are not making modern shades this large anymore. The only thing that would made this better would have been a pair. -Mike-
Is there any mark, not on the bottom, but at the base?
Nope... I was kind of hoping it was a Raymor / Bitossi lamp but his pieces have more incised patterns.
Yes I know. Thinking of some other mark...can't think of name...came up with Chagall! This blue s super desirable.
Yes it is really a beautiful blue. I picked it up at SA last month for 4 bucks ! I saw a really nice turquoise harlequin patterned lamp at VOA. It had some bad chips in the diamond pattern so I passed. It was gone the next day. I always keep an eye out for certain designs.
I like that,nice rich blue,classic!
I just purchased a very similar lamp with the blue-green glazes and the look of the world globe; will post. It didn't have a lamp shade but I have found a couple of places that will custom make a shade to the dimensions you want and it isn't too expensive. Worth it to make these beauties really shine.
