This all composition doll has brown sleep eyes and open mouth with teeth, she was my mother's when she was a child in the 1940's and possibly my grandmother's before that (she was a child in the 1910's). The doll was given a new wig when my mother passed it to me when I was a child in the 1970's. There are two other dolls, one very similar and the other smaller & male - along with a variety of their original clothing.

She lives in a trunk in my living room and comes out at Christmas when I put a festive plaid ribbon over the pink ribbon around her waist.

She's wonderful. Look around her neck/back area for a mark

Sadly, there are no marks to be found. I know the other two are stored away in a box with their clothing, somewhere in a closet in this house. I will have to search for them one of these days.

Well dig them out! I'll dig out my books tonight and look for your doll. She looks like an Effanbee or an Ideal to me.

Madame Alexander didn't make dolls in 1910. She started making dolls in 1923 and those were mostly cloth dolls. One of her first cloth dolls was Alice in Wonderland.
