I came across this lovely little thing in a market across from where I go to college. I think its a household petty cash box as the rotating receipt has a grocery list on it. The writing seems to date to the late 1940s. If anyone knows what this type of box is called or have any information on them id love to know I cannot find another anywhere online or information about them. Thanks !
Looks like a scrolling note pad to me.
Cassa = cash or case
Obsolete French casse, money box (from Norman French; see case 2) or from Italian cassa (from Latin capsa, case).

Some old examples of old wooden shop tills or cash boxes had a paper scroll to record sales.
thanks walksoftly, I was thinking that based on spanish for case although 'Houishoud' is Dutch for Household so I suppose it means Household Box etc.. its more puzzling to be that I cannot find another like it absolutely anywhere online . thanks for the reply
