    Alfred Meakin, Marigold, Astoria shape
    Dessert Bowl
    1937 +
Replacements.com lists this pattern as Mea 389, I don't know if that is a Meakin # or one assigned by replacements.com
Poppies, wheat & I think the small blue & grey flowers are bachelor buttons
Does anyone know if Marigold is a series designation?

Thanks Sean & brat for the love & the wonderful comments. The colours in these bowls - I was given two of them - are so vibrant I was drooling over them the minute that I first saw them!

Thanks for the love & the comment Geno, it seems odd that a company that had hundreds of named designs would resort to a number for some items.

Thanks Sis for the love & the kind words, Sherry did claim a couple of the pieces that I brought home, but these are mine!
It's not often that you see heads of wheat on china.

Thanks for the comment & kind words Phil, I guess we'll all show a little wear at 75.
These bowls belonged to my elderly neighbours mother.

The flowers & wheat are a beautiful marriage on white.
My Mom has a lot of Czech pottery with the same color/flower/wheat combination,.......but on black. Really lovely pieces that have been hanging on the walls at home since I was a child.

Thanks for the love & sharing your story Budek, the wheat & flower combination seems prevalent in eastern European design.
