I bet you think you've seen this vase before... and you're right. You've seen a purple one I posted at CW 2 years ago: http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/39258-vase-from-unknown-designed-and-brand.
And this is just it, but in white glass.
I am posting also a new picture of the purple one and another pic with the two of them together. There is a 4th pic, which is a simmilar one (sort of a hybrid between them both) that is attributed to WMF, made at the Gesilingen factory around 1970.
I don't usually buy the same vase twice, not even in different colours although there are a few exceptions, and this is one of them.
stunning vase :)
Hahaha this post did make me giggle cause I totally thought...why is posting the same one again?
Haha!!! So you remembered the shape but not the colour! :)
Well, I have to say, I am very proud of my pics of white glass on a white background :)
You should be it is creamy goodness.
Thanks Amber!!! :)
Strange. I never saw it. And I wouldn't know to which designer it could be attributed. Do you have an idea? Not that I know the WMF production very well. Unfortunately there is not such a book like about Wiesenthalhütte or Gralglas (as far as I know). The two most known WMF designers for glass in this time, I would say, are Erich Jachmann (pictures http://bit.ly/1aT6Pu6 ) and Cari Zalloni (pictures: http://bit.ly/12yMy4X ) whose style is very modernist. But there are also designers like Günter Kupetz and Sigrid Kupetz. Perhaps the vase is earlier than 1970? WMF made glass since a long time, it's famous for its glass in the Twenties.
I wish I knew more about this. The vase appears as WMF and made in the Geslingen factory at glaskilian.de... Jan Kilian is quite precise with its attributions, but who knows! It does look very late 60s/early 70s to me... I really like this vase (these vases in fact) and i wish i could identify it (them)!
Why don't you ask him? Perhaps he knows it.
