That is a neat advertising piece. What is it made of and what was it used for?
I love the mystery of old items like this. After some quick research I find the Reddy Tee wood peg as seen on your item, was not invented until 1921 and was patented in 1925. So why does your item have a patent date of 1915?
I also found this on the Manhattan Tee dated 1915, the rubber tee you have.

Could the Reddy Tee Co. have advertised on the older rubber tees to get the word out?
In saw only 1 of these on Ebay, anyway i did read that they were made for only a few years after 1915. There was other company's which made these also i found. Its a weighted the large end, the other end you place a golf ball, as you hit the ball the rubber will stay. This man in our family played golf from 1899-1926 I know at lest these yrs. He work in Boston in Wright & Ditson all these years. Lot at my other shots i put here, and here

Is there a statute of limitations on posts like this? Just wanted to add that "Manhattan Tees" like this were sold as recently as the 50's/60's . I have one in the original box (they were sold individually like candy bars w/12 to the box). I'm sure of those dates because the box has an address with a postal zone. Otherwise, they are identical except the newer ones are made with red rubber molded onto the metal disc which served to weigh the tee down during use.
