There are 2 different Production Numbers shown for this shape. 1898 Series I-7472, and 1900 Series II-799. The ground color of this 12 inch tall vase is Olympia, and it fluoresces under UV light. There are 4 upward-pulled feathers, with fine threads of bright yellow, and wider bands of pink surrounding them. Polished pontil, no signature.
From Loetz Bohemian Glass 1880-1940 by Hatje Cantz, on p. 296 it says "The two oldest Phänomen genres have the numbers Genre 166 and Genre 6893".
stunning !!!!!!
Gorgeous and Gorgeous!!!
Great photos of a superb example.
Thanks everyone. I see some dirt in the photos that I missed. I better get cleaning. My long bottle brush got thrown out, so I have to get another one to reach into the bottom of the vase.
if you have ball bearings those work really well for getting dirt out of the bottom of vases. uncooked rice and or pinto beans also works.
for the record the vase is so stunning I never even noticed any dirt...
Simply elegant!
Wow, beautiful "subtle" shades and colors in this one. Excellent!
