Another Poschinger listed here because there is no German Section on CW. Nicely decorated with flowers and leaves rising from a watery base. Dark violet/ purple iridescent body. Polished pontil. 10 inches high.
Signed : H 12. The present head of Poschinger says they do not know what the letters and numbers on the bottom mean. I think possibly the decorator's inital (H for Betty Heldrich).

You're right, Frank; I think there should be a German glass category too.

This is a nice one - the decoration is very well done. Very Jugendstil.

cogito : Glad you agree the H is for the decorator Hedrich. Wouldn't you think that Count Benedick von Poschinger would know that also ???

Often the people who are running modern glassworks know very little about prewar operations. they tend to leave that to the scholars rather than delve into it themselves. They have the museums and old glass and the records but they don't study it/them.

GSO is correct. Most of the scholarship and discovery is left to the collectors these days. There are a few museum operations that provide excellent work, but nothing generally comes from the manufacturers themselves.

Very nice, this was the first Poschinger decor/shaped vase I purchased around 15 years ago. Now I have two, one is a smaller version of the same, with the second one being fairly large. Both are similarly signed.
