I honestly don't have enough experience with bronze statues to know if this an authentic August Moreau statue or if its a reproduction piece. I'm hoping someone with the knowledge of bronze work could help me out and maybe give me an idea of its age.

Thank you Phil, I had been wondering if it was. It just didn't seem to be as put together as it should be.
Unfortunately over the past few years, I've had a few family members pass away. This has been kind of a healing process for me and helped in feeling close to them by learning more about the items theve collected. There weren't many sales records so I'm unsure of how much they paid for these items, and in the case of this one, if she did pay a lot I'm glad she won't know it was a fake.

sarahoff - I found your listing in search for info on my Auguste Moreau bronze. If it's heavy bronze, I would say that it's an old reproduction; pictures never tell the truth. IF BEING an old repro, I value it at $450.00-600.00. Don't get excited until you really know what it's made from.
