Artwork by Maxine Kim Stussy, 1957

This is a wonderful work by Maxine Kim Stussy. It is untitled and not dated, but the newspaper page that the artist used to create her artwork on is dated December 8, 1957. This persona is used many times by the artist in many different styles, from painting to sculpture to metalworking. This piece was bought by a famous actor in Hollywood directly from the artist and he gave this to a friend of mine in the 1980's. And I now have it in my home. I love this so much, the colors and how the newspaper has a golden patina that brings out the black and white of the artwork. I think of my friend every time I look at this, he knew this was my favorite of all the works of art he had in his home.

This is 27 inches in length by 19 inches in height. The frame is gorgeous wood that is dovetailed together and very heavy.
