This is a wonderful piece of artwork by R. Tourte a dedicated piece to a well known actor from the 30s and 40s his name was Digges , the painting was painted in Greece 1947 and it has a Alton's label on the back plus the inscription , I don't know if Digges ever owned the painting , I read that they knew and admired each others work and were both in Greece during that year.
