Cocacola22's excellent bonus blotter post got me thinking about my most bizarre eBay purchase. Seller had listed a 1920 tip tray in decent condition for BIN $60, which I was only more than happy to do. Two weeks went by, no tray. After sending several messages, I finally receive a response from seller that "Selling on eBay is too stressful and I'm getting out of the business!!!!" Shortly after, a full refund was issued. Then the next week... I receive a 1920 tip tray! Not the one in the listing picture... one in MUCH better condition. To add to the incredible nature of this deal, I was telling TGBWC my story and he knows a collector in Florida who told him the same exact story. Same tray, same refund. Turns out seller had two trays, and TGBWC just happened to know both buyers. (The guy is connected, to say the least.)
All efforts to contact seller have been unsuccessful. So this is my free tip tray. The way I see it: It partially off sets the many times I've overpaid. A little Coca-Cola Carma.
Glad I inspired a post!
gotta love that deal!! No wonder he's outta bidness! Good for you Dave!
Wow crazy story, great tray, SUPER LUCKY lol.
You're the luckiest collector I know Dave!
Thanks Perry, and Trev, Bern, 22. I think we have to spend a lot of money to get so lucky once in awhile, Perry! :) Law of averages.
WOW and I thought I was lucky! Unbelievable story!!!!
The Coca-Cola gods have smiled upon you.
Thanks cckid, always good to hear from you. Hope things are going great up Cedar St. Yes, I'm a firm believer in 3C (Coca-Cola-Carma). What comes around, goes around...
