Eduard Stellmacher (German 1868), son of Alfred Stellmacher, (founder of the House of Amphora, Turn, Austria), studied modeling at the Special Ceramics School and later studied in Dresden at the Kunstgewerbeschule (Arts and Crafts School). This is embossed E.S.T for Eduard Stellmacher & Co /Teplitz. Eduard created several important series featuring realistically sculptured plants and animals, prehistoric, mythical creatures and BATS. This is a very rare form. Only a few are known to still survive.

Killer piece, fledermaus. I believe that it was likely designed by Eduard Stellmacher for Amphora rather than his father Alfred. The date you give matches the manufactory Riessner, Stellmacher (Eduard) and Kessel, which adopted the name Amphora not long after going into business. Alfred's company predates that.
