I'm trying to find out who signed this Caithness Glass Company Vase. It stands 7" tall with a 3 1/4" opening and is made of Neodymium Glass. Neodymium is glass that is dichroid and that will change under different lighting conditions. Under fluorescent lighting, the vase will be a pale blue and under incandescent lighting, it will turn a rich lavender color. The quality of the etch and glass is stunning. If anyone can read the signature, I'd like to know more about the artist. I know that it was made in Scotland, either in Wick, Oban or Perth and that it probably dates from the 1980-1990's. Thanks everyone, RER(BOB)
Yes, it looks like it but what is the rest.....initials of the designer maybe? Thank you for your input and love Eye4Beauty and thank you for the love mustangtony. RER(BOB)
"ROE" Deer....yes quite possibly since in Europe and Britain they call them by that name. So it refers to the etch design ...thanks again, BOB
It certainly looks like JMC now that I've seen the other listed vase. Thank you Eye4Beauty for all the research and thank you Moonstonelover21, walksoftly, SEAN68 and vetraio50 for the Love! RER (BOB)
Anybody out there who wants to know how to do great etching without the acid mess, let me know. Free instructions & fun. I did the etching for the queen of the Netherlands on a baccarat V-ass & the cost of materials was less that $10.
Eye4Beauty! It's certainly not a clear mark. Thanks again for all your help! BOB
I have never heard of this type of glass before but I really love the tint to it & the pattern is great. Thanks for showing
Thank you for the comments JayHow and Zowie and thank you freiheit, petey, charcoal, and blunderbuss2 for the Love! RER (BOB)
It's a pleasure for something so beautiful.
Maybe it’s “Doe Deer” and then something like 2pc
Pretty glass for sure.
