Most of the spittoons I have seen have been kicked around.
Many years ago use to occasionaly go to a saloon in my home town that had no chairs.A long bar and some high tables to stand up to and of coarse several spittoons.
The thinking was if you couldn't stand up it was time for you to go home.
They didn't allow women inside the bar so you can tell it was a long time ago.
They served hard boiled eggs and linberger cheese sandwichs with a slice of onion.
Thanks for the walk down memory lane.

My brother and sister-in law rented a apartment in the upper portion of the saloon and we lived in the next block over.So Harry and I would meet every so often and have a shell or two of beer.A shell at that time was ten cents,I think a pitcher of beer was forty cents. They usually had free peanuts or pretzels to chew on.Also forgot to mention had a couple pool tables, don't remember them being coin operated.Sorry to say the old saloon burned down about ten years ago.

Awww, it's sad that the building burned down. I have attachments to buildings just as much as my little collections of antiques and stuff at home. I just hate to see old buildings or houses torn down for new things to be built. Thanks for sharing Lee! It's always neat to hear other peoples memories.
