I believe this is a Miller Lamp c. 1895 (based on the patent dates). There are no makers' marks on the lamp and the flame spreader was removed when the lamp was electrified. The burner on the original font (which I am still restoring so it is not pictured) has a floral pattern on it, and I believe this indicates that it was manufactured by Miller, but I am not sure about this. If anyone can identify the manufacturer, it would be appreciated.
As you can see from the second picture it is very tall, 40" to the top of the chimney. The globe is 12" diameter and the chimney is 14" tall. The base, column decoration and column cap are pewter. The remainder is brass. It has been electrified, but not damaged and can easily be restored to burn fluid. I bought this off of craigslist for $20. The previous owner of the lamp did not believe me when I told him there was brass under the gold spray paint. I was surprised to find that portions of the lamp were also pewter. I have no idea whether the painted globe is original to the lamp, but is seems to be period. I am usually not a big fan of putti, but this lamp is just stunning.
