I picked up this pulled (pinched out) handled vase quite some time ago and don't know who made it. I have spent so much of my time concentrating on Loetz that I have neglected to study other Bohemian glass. Please help me here.
Yes. Polished pontil. (2005)
Absolutely Stunning and what a find!!!
Does the vase has a polished pontil ? If not, it may be one of the modern Czech studio vases imitating Loetz, but usually too intensively colored (made by Muller or Stephanek and others) currently flooding especially the US market.
It looks to have features of Heckert marmopal glass, which is sort of a multi-colored papillon type decor. See this piece here for a comparison of the tonal change associated with marmopal decor (http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/84181-heckert-marmopal-or-poschinger-vase-wi ). I've had a few of these Heckert type vases with the marmopal decor and they color variation is wide.
MK comes to mind with the large bowls with latice-type triangular foot
This is not Heckert "Marmopal", as this decor always contains flecks of colored glass, mainly in brown, red or green within the papilon decor.
