My dad asked me to take this picture for him. He knows very little about the clock other than it has been passed down through the family. His great-aunt's initials are engraved on the back. Also engraved is the date September 1925. She and another sister were what some in her generation would have classified as an "old maid." They never married and taught school in Charlottesville, VA.
My dad has taken the piece to an antiques shop and they said it was probably a travel clock. Possibly Swiss made?
Any information would be wonderful!
stunning clock:)
Yes it's a "Travel" clock, possible Swiss, being no outside markings. Could be any Europe made, but probably Swiss. Sorry couldn't be any more help. Very nice Deco style travel clock. Hope mystery is solved quickly for you.
I just want to say it's utterly gorgeous and my favourite colour. The dial is really eye-catching. Sorry, I cannot give you its history however.
The only other thing I can suggest is opening up the back cover and seeing if there is any stamp on the back plate which should reveal where it was made/manufacturer.
