    This my favourite pair of Family Seals we have...the more official ones are in the safe. These were my Great Grandfathers and we still use these too...I love the stone they are carved from...

      Sarah, LMAO even my mother does not know I took these pics of them!!! Including the Jade horses!!! I don't think she would have minded...but. The special black cast iron lion seals are taboo!

      czechman, these are for private family documents only good or legal in Japan. They are like the family emblem or like the Nobility used on wax seals for seding letters or personal documents. This is what is on rice paper for signing your family crest...also used on paintings for artists...like

      I seen a show on this style before sometime ago about the only thing I really remember is that the style is very precious I wish I could remember more. Great to have in the family. You really are lucky to have strong guiding hands around you. In my family I'm the only person who has ever showed a interest the others are only interested in what they can get for something, not the love.

      Sorry to hear that Leah, it happens way to often in my eye but family's can suck. As they say you can pick your friends family you can be stuck with. Notice the term can. I also hope you were like me & had the best his love that cannot be replaced.
