This is a Sterling silver so-called (I think) Sweetheart brooch. This kind of brooches are very much made ??in the 1880s in Victorian times.
I have tried to identify the marks and come to the conclusion that this means the following:
The lion is Sterling silver, the middle U is 1894 and B & W mean Baccus & White House from 1925 to 1929.
Now this is unclear to me for the following reason:
Mark U, I think to see is 1894 and the makers state are dated from 1925 to 1929. Do you have any idea how this can be explained? I appreciate your help!
The year is correct. The makers mark needs some more researching.
My battery is about to die, so google Baccus and Whitehouse and see if they were earlier than the dates defined. Burton and Walters?
