Looks like an old coffee pot. Are there any insides to it?

You have a Civil War era Copper Coffee Pot, it's a keeper! =) In England there are similar antique copper kettles fetching $300. Yours is a beauty!

Looks like a coffee pot ,made in same way as old granite ones were made and sat on a wood stove on the farm when I grew up . Here is one that is in beautiful condition and if you cleaned brass yours would look very nice :-) the handle on bottom back was to help tip the pot as they were heavy and made coffee for a whole day :-)

Thanks for the response! and Manikin thanks for the link. That one looks new compare to this one, but as one Iowan says mine looks "farm fresh".

this was probably made by a coopersmith ,so it could be hand-maid

DO NOT CLEAN IT!! The patina on it took over 100 years to look like that. The pot will only fetch $10-$15 if you remove it patina.
