This lamp has been in the same family since 1915...always looked like this. And the Nippon name is not on the base or marked like the Nippon pottery. The word is engraved into the metal rod inside ...

Thank you, Zowie...the elephant leg table was brought back to Toronto from a Far East trip by the well-known Trethewey family...probably late 1920's or early 30's...
