I asked her several times that when she was done with them, would I be able to have them. Well, much later in life, she was diagnosed with a very aggressive cancer and given 3 months to live. I think it was a week or less before she died that she began telling the family the special things she had that she wanted each to have. She told them that she wanted all of her recipes and books to go to me. What I have is more precious to me than anything. I even have a recipe written on a 1920 census card. A very special part of her lives on in these pieces for me. I would really like to create a cookbook for the entire family with her recipes, placing pictures of the actual hand-written recipes next to the neatly deciphered and typed ones. It's a dream that I'm trying to work toward, however, it's a dream I'm not quite sure how to complete.
Other than that, I was brought up around books, as my parents were avid readers. I like to write and would like one day to have something published. But the truth is, I write for me. I enjoy it creating worlds, history, people, hopes, dreams, and events.
Oh, one more thing, I like to babble. lol (Read more)
