I have an estate filled with items from several generations. Tin wind up toys, rare books, trains, tools, china still in original wooden shipping packaging from 50's, amo, Musical instruments, lots of misc..... Would like to get rid of storage units......BTW, grew up in Va, in the Blue Ridge Mountains. As teens we would go to the Drive Inn on a Friday night and back on Saturday morning to the big flea market! We barely missed a weekend! My Daddy was a 'wheeler dealer' so I grew up never knowing what he was gonna bring home! I remember going down the hill in the snow and ice on the 'surf board' he brought home to us! (We lived no where near a beach!) Once he traded for a hound dog! My Dad was well loved and collected knives, guns, watches and a lot of other stuff! He owned part of a collection done by Joe Dakota Hawk. The knives were just marvelous. Some with elephant head and real ivory tusks, lots of scrimshaw. Joe played in Westerns with John Wayne.....My Dad made and repaired knives as well. I loved to ramble through his shop and just look. Every item had a story. It fascinated me. I love to learn the history of an item along with it's value.
We always loved to hunt for whatever we may find it's in my blood!......P.S. Have been very busy this summer...will add pictures in next few weeks! (Read more)
