Sorry Peasejean55. It's about 7.5 inches tall, 6 inches side to side, and the bowl part is about 3 inches deep.
Ok I brought it home and it's all wood with metal bands. One leather strap is on the side and one missing on the other side. With it being all wood, does that help with determining the age?

You know, it's a good possibility, but I'm not sure. And the shiny brass hardware doesn't look original to the piece, at least to me, so it could have been. But there is no paint residue on the glass ...
