Kdean4, when I cleaned it, I found the dates on each different piece of metal used on the trunk, including the wheels. The only name that I found was on the wheels (and I can't remember it right now)....

Trunkman, may I ask you a question regarding patent dates... More than one patent marks say "Mar. 16 80". A space between the 16 and 80. I'm assuming that this means March 16, 1880. Would I be corr...

OMG, I think my trunk is identical! I just found myself be and it's filthy but I'm going to clean it. I haven't found one that is the same until now!
Hi. I have one on this site, too. Is there a date or manufacturer name on the hardware? I was told to start there. Mine is very similar and the patent date is April 15, 1879.
There is a lithograph in the lid. So pretty.
