I grew up in Clifton, KS home of Kansas Toy and Novelty Co. Growing up I took piano lessons from a woman named Lorene (Chub) Sorell. Chub and her father were both I grew up in Clifton, KS home of Kansas Toy and Novelty Co. Growing up I took piano lessons from a woman named Lorene (Chub) Sorell. Chub and her father were both employees of the toy company. In a display case she had an extensive collection of the toys which I was always intrigued by.
When Chub passed a few years ago she left the collection to me. They have been tucked since her passing and I recently pulled them out to take some photographs and see what all she had.
It appears that some are very rare models and upon comparing the cars to photos in some resource books it appears that some of these very cars were used for the photos. Lorene is listed as a contributor in the O' Brian toy book. I also know that the Hopson resource book includes some photos of these cars and mentions Lorene in a document. (Read more)
