I'm a silver freak, and that egg and stand are so lovely! The stand has a very old look about it. Your dad is very talented, no doubt about it.
I understand that this was , most likely, a showroom piece so I will research it in the appropriate way. I still have to try to figure out the country of origin. Might have to call Columbo in on this...

LOL yes, they do look like fishing baskets. Pencils also do not fit, they are too long. :-) I hope somebody out there has a clue, for I have none. :-D
