I was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri and bought the house my great, great grandparents built after all three generations of my grandparents passed. I inherited everything an old midwestern family would have used... From a stamp collection to old farming tools. I recently found an old cast iron corn husker. My family also owned and operated two mechanic shops so I have old Snap-on tools and a big Snap-on mechanic’s tool box on wheels. I have a Gargoyle Mobiloil 6 or 7 foot container with 2 of the signs still attached to it. I also have the globe and the original electrical parts are still working and can light up the globe. I must say, I have a ton more things to go through as I have the spare time over the holidays. It feels like treasure hunting to me, although, I am 25 years old so it’s a daunting task to figure out what is trash and what is treasure. (Read more)
