You can get the oil at Wal Mart, believe it or not. It also comes in colors such as blue and amber.
Love it!
The shade is the most extraordinary part of this lamp! I worked in the lampshade industry for years and these just don't survive. The shade is made of silk and is hand painted. It should be kept away...
