I think this is a teapot/coffee pot for serving. I don't think that it is for stovetop use. The bumps would keep it elevated to protect the surface of the table. It is similar to the brown glaze Marc...
I would try a search by picture image. It is difficult to find the chop marks or read the Kanji.

Thank you slackjack!!! My Dad always had so many antique clocks, so no surprise. He was a draftsman so that was my first thought. I'll have to look & see if there are any other parts laying around.
