I know it is a decanter (used for holding liquors, mostly scotch), what brand or make I am not sure. I could not find any that matched it.
I believe you are right in assuming it's a planter, by the looks of it I'd say from the 50's.
Yeah I heard and saw it advertised as that also, but can't seem to find anything on it! Guess that could be a very good thing? lol
