The owner just told me that this lamp came from the Berkshires (MA) and was in his parents house in the 1940's so it was made before that time.
There is no mark or foundry name that I could see. Why would there be a font which lifts out of the ball at top and has caps for filling and a turner for the wick if it wasn't made for kerosene? It is...
