It seems very old in person. Nicked, some glue here and there. Aged damage. Anyway to sniff out an obvious fake/new piece?

Oh - thanks! Do you happen to know what a 'hobbist ceramic piece' is? Like - did people go to some ceramics store and paint them? I guess I'm unfamiliar with this concept ....
