We just started collecting oil lamps in May of this yr. We've collected over 100 lamps all sizes shapes & colors. We set a limit to not pay over $20 for a single lamp & we've done pretty good with that except for 1 lamp we paid $50 for it. It's an 1897 Rayo lamp. We're still doing research on our lamps to see what the value of them are. It's a bit challenging for us because we do live in a small town. Our library has had to contact other libraries in bigger towns to get us books about our lamps. We've become friends with the owners of various antique shops which has greatly helped us in our quest. So far it's been fun, educational, & almost to the point of being an obsession. We haven't set a limit as to how many lamps we're going to collect. We're just having fun with it & we'll see where it takes us. (Read more)
