Even if these are WW1, I 'm still thrilled with the history of them. They are, by far, the most antique item I own. Thanks for the information, Murray.
Hey Scott: I'm not sure of the connection. The only other pair I've seen with "Day and Night: field and marine"and"La Merveille: Paris" were said to be from the Boer War era. (They are in a museum) ...
