I have some similar that my grandmother had...they called them Blue Plate Specials? I think they were restaurant plates...very heavy....
Why would the heads be carved in the back and the flap open?
I had a small collection when I got my first apartment...I especially liked the aqua and there is also a light yellow that combines well...
this is a stunning painting....so peaceful and the coloring is great...I'm sorry I can't help identify.
