looks like a russian paper mache box it should be signed somewhere look carefully on the bottom cover sometimes they are signed in similar colors as picture so its hard to see sometimes they are dated...
hi i think its some sort of factory punched needlework,because i saw the exact same one at a thrift shop for $20.00 and almost bought it. its def not unique prob not handmade.

it is no doubt a masonic symbol, just goggle masonic button or cuff link you will find pictures of others that are the same it appears to be a late 18th century cuff link.
where do you get these beautiful things?
wow this is so unique no info for you but i like it. take it to the roadshow.
does anyone have any information about this piece i have researched markings and can not find anything.
